Visto che non sapevo che cosa fare ho pensato di investire il mio tempo libero in sciocchezze.
Quella odierna riguarda una serie di interviste che realizzero’ per conto di Italian Web Design a famosi (o meglio dire famigerati – cit. Val Kilmer aka Iceman in Top Gun) zuzzurrelloni del settore.

Oggi e’ il turno di Elena Gargiulo, sorella di Laura, che ha pensato bene di seguire le orme della prima-di-lei-genita e darsi al webdesign. E’ una tipa sveglia con doti di serie A e un bel senso estetico per i colori. A lei si debbono Inspiration in a Box e, ovviamente, Helenchan.it il suo angolo di tag.

Dopo che l’ho lisciata abbastanza penso sia tempo di passare all’intervista, e’ per questo che mi pagano in fondo.. molto in fondo =)

Benvenuta, prendi pure posto.. No, non sulla sedia, c’e’ un comodo sgabellino traballante. Sei fanatica dell’oriente quindi dovrebbe andarti bene, no? =)
Già può andar bene, anzi faccio di più. Mi metto direttamente a terra con un cuscinetto :)

Da dove arriva il tuo soprannome? Un trofeo di guerra per aver spennato un Pokemon?
Ahahaahahaha no nulla di tutto ciò. Li odio i Pokemon :)
Dato che ho la passione per la cultura orientale ho semplicemente aggiunto un suffisso giapponese al mio nome in inglese. Chan infatti è un vezzeggiativo usato tra ragazzi/e. Ma c’è anche -San ecc… ma non sto qui a far lezione di giapponese ehehhe

Si beh.. anche perche’ avrei un impegno.. E che fai nella vita? Qual’e’ il tuo lavoro?
Ho avuto la fortuna di unire la mia passione per la grafica con il lavoro. Sono una webdesigner freelance.

Per ora riesco a sbarcare il lunario, anche perchè vivo ancora con i miei quindi PER ORA non ho problemi di affitti, bollette ecc… (conto però di andare a vivere da sola presto… speriamo)

Quindi ce l’avete nel DNA.. vostra madre dovrebbe stare piu’ attenta a quel che mangia in gravidanza. Sei in competizione con Laura?
Aahha sì, chissà cosa mangiava! Il bello è che nostra madre è negata con la tecnologia… strano vero?

Beh certo, spero di continuare per un bel pò crescendo sempre di più. Più visibilità hai più arrivano clienti, è così che va il mondo del design :) Magari apriremo una grande webagency io e mia sorella, chissà.

Qual’e’ la pubblicita’ piu’ brutta che tu abbia mai visto? (Io ricordo ancora il beota dello spot Limoncè che apre il frigo e resta folgorato dalla Madonnina di Santa Bottiglia Vuota)

In questi anni ne stanno facendo di belle e originali. Così su due piedi mi viene in mente una pubblicità di un noto gestore telefonico con alcuni ragazzi che suonano in un gruppo… non è una pubblicità ma una soap operaaaa.

Per ridere, se ti affidassero la direzione di uno spot, che cosa pubblicizzeresti?
Bella domanda! Non ho mia pensato a questo. Magari una linea di abbigliamento originale, viaggi, computer Apple, l’uscita di un cd musicale.

Eh certo.. mi compro un computer mentre viaggio vestita come uno Yeti e sento la musica degli eskimesi.. si sa che i webdesigner, soprattutto i freelance, sono una massa di cialtroni e di pigroni. Tu a quale categoria appartieni?

In giro ce ne sono, quello è vero. Gente che si improvvisa webdesigner in due minuti. Io credo di non appartenere a nessuno delle due categorie. Cerco di fare bene il mio lavoro e di offrire un buon servizio. Poi vabeh nella mia vita privata un pò pigra lo sono ehehhe

Ti piace viaggiare giusto? Quali sono i tuoi lidi preferiti e le mete ambite?
Sì molto, vorrei vedere moltissimi posto (finanze permettendo :P)
Sono tornata da una vacanza stupenda ad Ischia e merita di essere visitata. Come mete ambite ce ne sono tante. C’è Londra, vorrei tornare ad Atene (mi piace anche l’arte classica) e poi spingermi più ad est: ad esempio Kyoto, la sede della tradizione giapponese per eccellenza.

Sapevi che in Cina cercano operai? Se mandi il curriulum… =)
Ehm no guarda, passo! Non resisterei mezza giornata come operaia, magrolina come sono ahaha

Me la cavavo bene dai. Le mie materie preferite erano storia dell’arte, disegno tecnico (già avevo i primi sintomi di malattia da design ehehe), inglese e informatica.

Eh.. si vede che l’italiano non era tra queste =P

Today’s piece of madness is about a serial kill-interview that I’m gonna build for Italian Web Design, to famous (or better, notorius – cit. Val Kilmer aka Iceman in Top Gun) duckies of the webdesign ambiance.

As I’m a fan of Orient I just added a Japanese suffix to my english name. Chan, as you know, it’s a term of endearment used between guys and gals. There’s also -Sanetc etc.. won’t take any Japanese lesson ehehhe

Right now I can pay the bills, even ’cause I’m still living with my parents, so have not actually  money -outs (but I’m planning to get a house on my own soon.. I hope)

What’s the worst commercial you’ve ever seen? (I still remember the silly one of the Limoncè commercial, he opens the fridge and stands silly as a dead dog can be watching an emptz bottle)

In all these years there so many, all original and nice. Actually I can only think about a commercial of a phone operator with some guys playing in a band.. not a commercial, it’s a soap operaaaa.

Laughing about, if you should ever direct any commercial what will be the main product?
Great question! Never tought about it. Maybe an original clothing line, travels, Apple computers, a new music cd..

You can find some of them all around. People pretending to be webdesigners in a couple of minutes. I think I’m not classified; just doing my work fine and offer a good service. But.. in my private life I’m a it lazy ehehhe

Like to travel? Which are the places you like best?
I love to travel, I’d like to see as many places as I can (Mr. Money.. :P)
I’m back from a marvellous trip to Ischia and I think I should come again. Places I like best.. so many. There’s London, wanted to get back to Athens (I adore classic arts) and then go eastern, Kyoto for example, which is the source of Japanese tradition.

You know in China they need workers? Got your curriculum ready! =)

I’m quite good. My faves were Hystory of Arts, Techical Drawing (the very first symptoms of Designer disease ehehe), english and informatics.
